Why can't I connect to my network?

1. Make sure you are using the latest firmware version
Many problems are solved by a simple upgrade. Early firmware versions had problems with WPA but from version 1.03.10SUA WPA key connection issues were fixed, according to the Linksys release notes.

2. On the WIP330 screen Menu/Wireless/Set Wifi are networks detected? No: try changing channel or test with another router

3. Turn off the security settings on the router for testing purposes.
Can the phone connect to an open network (ie no WPA or WEP encryption)? The WIP330 does not support all security protocols. It does not support WPA2. It does not support RADIUS server authentication. As of the latest firmware version, 1.03.18S, the WIP330 supports WEP (64bit/128bit) and WPA-PSK. I myself use WPA-PSK with a 16 character password and it works fine with that over the several routers I generally use. Keep your passkey to 16 characters or less.

4. Make sure your router is not just broadcasting in wireless N.
The latest firmware version supports wireless N connections and many people use it without problems but many users (including me) find their WIP330's cannot detect the N stream.

5. Try changing the channel the router uses.
For some reason the WIP330 seems to dislike particular router/channel combinations so experiment as far as you can.

6. Try setting the WIP330 to use a manually assigned network IP number (Menu/Network Settings) and set the same number to the WIP330 on the router's setup page. You may need the WIP330 MAC number which can be found on the handset's Menu/Information screen.

7. Test the WIP330 with another router or on another network,
again with security off to begin with. If you can now connect then you know the problem is with your own router.

There are some routers the WIP330 just will not connect to under any circumstances, who knows why, so make sure you try it with at least one other router.
