Some users encounter problems when first using the Skype application following a firmware downgrade. The WIP330 will put up an error message complaining of missing or corrupt Skype related files. Why this is I cannot say for sure as it is not an issue I have experienced myself. It may in some way be connected to running the Skype firmware without first having used a manual install version, I am not sure.
Assuming you are getting these messages when running a Skype enabled early firmware version then try downloading this file Skype for Windows, decompressing it and putting the files into the WIP330 Windows CE Windows folder. This can be done using the file browser built into Windows CE and accessible via your PC web browser from the links given in the Manual Install section. Otherwise you can use Microsoft Active Sync to do so. This may or may not work, results seem to vary.

1. Check that the new firmware has loaded correctly. You can check the firmware version by going to Menu/Information on the handset screen.
2. Confirm that the firmware has not become corrupted. Make sure you can see all the normal icons on the WIP330 screen.
If the new firmware has loaded OK but you still cannot see any sign of Skype then you have just struck unlucky. Sometimes, very rarely, the Skype icon does not display as it should because not all the files have installed themselves correctly. Who knows why. My advice in this case would be to upgrade to the latest firmware and content yourself with a manual enabling of Skype
