WIP330

This is a website about the Linksys WIP330 IP phone. This is a wifi phone which uses the SIP protocol to make telephone calls at low cost or often at no cost at all over the internet.

What make this phone unique is it's ability to use hot spots which require browser authentication. The WIP330 has a built in web browser and allows access to HotSpots where a web page asks for a password before you can use the internet. This is the case at most hotels, cafe's, bars etc that offer wifi access. The WIP330 also offers wireless N access, again a first.

This site has now become far larger than I originally envisaged and this may be off putting to the new user. In fact the WIP330 is a very simple phone to set up and use. Most of the info on this site is for those who want to explore the more arcane features the WIP330 has to offer and for those who like to look under the hood.

This website has no connection with Linksys or Cisco Systems and is not supported by Linksys in any way.

Website Updates

June 06th Skype have changed their sign on routine and the WIP330 and many other phones will no longer work with Skype. When they did this before after a few days Skype fixed it.
